ABOUT
Civic Learning Exchange empowers young people and adults, especially from marginalized communities, to become health advocates and civic leaders through culturally responsive education, storytelling, and community-led research.
We are currently focused on supporting the feasibility of a Louisiana-based digital health hub that bridges the gap between researchers and community realities.
Through a partnership with Our Healthy Community and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, we’re activating a Community Innovation Lab to gather insights from diverse stakeholders including community members and advocates, healthcare providers, and researchers on how digital tools can advance health equity.

September 15, 2025 - We are thrilled to share that we have secured funding from BWF, marking a significant milestone for our organization. This support will enable us to launch a Community Innovation Lab focused on advancing health equity through digital tools and community-led research. With this funding, we’ll engage youth, adults, and local organizations across Louisiana to assess the viability and feasibility of co-designing a digital health hub that reflects lived experience, builds trust, and bridges the gap between research and real-world impact. From inclusive surveys to focus groups and storytelling, we’re laying the groundwork for a platform that centers culture, accessibility, and sustained engagement.
